Hey Everyone

Things seem to be falling into place lately and it seems like it's about time!  We have been on the search for a house for the past 9 months and have finally gotten the ball rolling on one.  I am completely in love with the house, the location and the fact that we will be right down the street from our best friends.  I'm forseeing lots of playdates, dinners and late night scrapbooking in my future!

It's so hard to believe Halloween is going to be here soon and then Lily's birthday just a few weeks after.  I'm having a hard time admitting to the fact that my baby is going to be 2....holy cow, where did the time go?  She is getting so grown up and has developed her own personality.  She loves to sing and dance (as long as no one is watching her), Loves her brother and our new puppy, is getting really good with writing and is talking about everything now.  I'm so happy with the wonderful little girl she is turning into.  I was starting to worry that she didn't have any friends to play with but she is now playing nicely with Kai, Krissi and Eric without clinging to me the whole time.

Life

Well life has been crazy this past month.  I feel like the time is just whizzing by and I can't control it....and we all know how much I LOVE to control things.  I can't believe how fast the year has gone by, the Halloween decorations sprouting up in the stores is a constant reminder of how quickly time passes.  It makes me want to embrace each day and be grateful for all the wonderful things i've been blessed with.

I have been having such a great time taking classes through Jessica Sprague's website learning all sorts of new techniques to better my scrapbooking.  I also enrolled in a photography class to learn how to take my camera off the auto mode and start using it for all the greatness I know I can get out of it.  I have been working on my skills in photoshop and loving all the new things i'm learning and trying to soak it all in.

Meanwhile, a couple of weeks ago my mom and I had a chance to get away and attend a Scrapbooking retreat called Creative Escape.  It's supposedly one of the most prestigious events in the industry and was absolutely mind blowing.  I'm still trying to digest all the information we learned but it was so worth every second.  Coming back home it was extremely hard to shove everything back into our suitcases (it's a good thing mom brought an extra bag) because of all the free stuff they gave us and all the discounted things we bought.  It was so much fun :)  They kept us busy from morning till night with classes, dinners and extra crafts until we crawled back to our room and fell into bed.  It was so exciting but absolutely exhausting.  My favorite moment of the whole week was getting to meet Jessica Sprague.  I can't express in words how much I idolize this woman.  Not only is she is an amazing teacher but she is so sweet and down to earth.  In her class my mom and I sat right up front and just cracked up at her hilarious stories.  I'm sure we will be reminiscing about this for a long time.  It was great to be able to spend quality time with mom doing something we both love to do.

Well the week has graced us with 2 ear infections and there has not been a whole lot of sleep around this place and I hear Lily crying now so i'm going to wrap this up.  Hope this post finds everyone well and i'm going to try to post some new pictures of layouts i've been working on.

Today's inspiration

It's been awhile

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted.  These past 2 weeks have flown by with being kicked out of our house for a few days to tent our house for termites.  We took full advantage of our Managament company paying for our expenses.  We enjoyed a night at the Hale Koa in downtown Waikiki and had a great dinner at the Yard House (not to mention a few beers because we could walk there!)  Kai thought it was quite an adventure and I loved being able to walk everywhere and not depend on the car.  We actually got to feel like tourists and escape the reality of our crazy life.

I have been on a mission to get all of my digital scrapbooking stuff and digital photos organized and i'm doing pretty well so far.  It's been quite a project because I have a ton of photos and my digital collection is growing by the second!  It will be nice when i have it all done though because i'll be able to locate whatever i'm looking for in a second.  I have also been taking another photo editing class for photoshop and am loving it.  I have learned so much in such a short time that will change the way my photos will look forever :)  Matt loves to laugh at me whenever I figure out some new trick that will help me out.  I'm like a little kid in a candy shop.

The kiddos are both doing really well.  Kai started back at school in the 4 year old class and is doing great.  He loves his new teacher and there are actually some boys in his class.  Last year he was the only boy amongst 11 other girls....now it's pretty even.  His best friend Krissi is still in his class too and supposedly the other day they both told their teacher that they love each other.  I'm seeing trouble brewing here pretty soon.
Lily is talking a lot more now.  She is quite a trip with her big personality.  She lets us know exactly what she wants and when she wants it.  If she doesn't get it she will either screech at the top of her lungs or give you this "I know you can't resist me" look.  TROUBLE!!!

Until Next Time......

My Heart

Last night sometime in the wee hours of the morning Kai woke up and I heard him crying from the other room.  I got up and asked him what was wrong and he looked at me and said "Mommy, my heart is hurrrrrting."  I put my hand on his chest and his heart was beating a million miles an hour.  He told me that he had a bad dream where he was climbing up a rock wall and a man in a green shirt was chasing him.  I got him back into bed and he calmed down while he told me about his dream.....I thought it was really cute that he could remember his dream and then tell me about it.

Some pictures from yesterday

Yesterday we found an awesome deal to go to Sea Life Park.  It's a much smaller version of Sea World but a lot more interactive. The kids had a blast and Matt and I really enjoyed the shows they had to offer.  The dolphin show was AMAZING.  We both agreed that that the shows there were much better than Sea World.  I managed to snap some great shots of Lily while she was hanging out in her stroller watching the show.

Enjoy!
